You may have seen or heard about goji berries and wondered what all the fuss was about.  Well keep reading to find out all about this unique superfood!  Goji berries are one of the most nutritionally dense fruits on earth.   These little superfood powerhouses are filled with vitamin C and carotenoids. Goji berries also boost the immune system and protect the eyes and skin.  
 
A raw goji berry is very small and are native to Tibet and Mongolia.  They have been used in traditional Chinese medicine for thousands of years.  You can eat them raw or add them to trail mix and smoothies.  Some people use them as juice, wine, or brewed in tea.  You can even bake with them for an added nutrition and flavor.  Their beta carotene content promotes skin health and the vitamin C can decrease cold symptoms.  These little berries are low in calories, fat free, and packed with fiber.  
 
Goji berries can be purchased at Chinese supermarkets and health stores.   They come in the form of juice, powdered, dried, or simply raw. Keep them stored in a cool dry place until you are ready to use them in recipes or as a snack.
