A woman sitting in the Eagle pose

Twisting to Unwind

Sometimes twisting can help you unwind. Eagle pose, or in Sanskrit Garudasana, is an excellent way to open and create spaciousness in the shoulders and release tension from the neck.

Sitting comfortably, reach your arms forward and wrap your left arm over your right, crossing left elbow over the right upper arm. Squeeze your forearms and press your palms together as you pull the shoulders away from each other and down the back.

Lift the elbows so they are parallel with the floor. Pull the throat back and reach through the crown of the head.

While maintaining a steady inhalation and exhalation breath into life’s possibilities, letting go of limiting beliefs as your arms take flight.
